Thank you for taking the time to visit www.jointhealth.org. Here you will find information about inflammatory arthritis, and an overview of the work ACE is doing to end discrimination against people with arthritis in Canada.
During this Federal election, ACE is focusing attention on a critically important area of inflammatory arthritis treatment and care: high rates of serious inflammatory arthritis in Aboriginal populations, and the inadequate coverage offered by the Non-Insured Health Benefit plan (NIHB) for medically necessary medications.
The failure of the NIHB to provide adequate coverage for "gold standard" arthritis medications constitutes discrimination. Arthritis Consumer Experts will be addressing this issue nationally in the coming weeks and months, and we would like your help.
Please take the time to read through the information below to learn more about this issue. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Following the election, we will be contacting key MPs with an interest and/or expertise in health or Aboriginal issues to discuss how we can work together to end the discrimination against people with arthritis who look to NIHB to provide medication reimbursement coverage.
