ACE goes to Whistler, BC for the 2014 Canadian Rheumatology Association Annual Scientific Meeting & Arthritis Health Professions Association Annual Meeting

Making arthritis news: Sharing the consumer perspective through the Arthritis Broadcast Network Booth

Arthritis Consumer Experts (ACE) will be in Whistler, BC to attend the 2014 CRA Annual Scientific Meeting & AHPA Annual Meeting. The meetings, which begin today and end on Saturday March 1, brings rheumatologist and arthritis health professionals (like physiotherapists) from all over Canada together to learn about and share the latest advances in arthritis research and care.

ACE and representatives from the Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance, the Consumer Advisory Board of the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada, the BC Lupus Society, the Canadian Spondylitis Association and Patient Partners will be there to share the arthritis consumer perspective. You can keep up-to-date on our activities by following us on Facebook or join the conversation on Twitter using #CRArthritis14.

While there, ACE and representatives will be interviewing rheumatologists (doctors who specialize in treating arthritis) and other arthritis-health related topic presenters about their views on the state of arthritis in Canada. The issues we will be talking to the meeting participants about will include:
  • The highlights of this year’s CRA meeting that would benefit patients most;
  • The use of social media in relation to patient care and medical research;
  • Advances in the treatment of arthritis; and,
  • Other important topics related to arthritis health.
If you have any questions you would like ACE to ask the rheumatologist regarding the state of arthritis healthcare in Canada, please send your questions to feedback@jointhealth.org and we will include them in the interviews. For more information regarding the meeting, please click here.
