Message to people with arthritis from the Consumer Advisory Board of the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada...
The Consumer Advisory Board of the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada is looking for three volunteer consumer advocates from the Lower Mainland to serve on our Board. We are looking for members who represent various forms of arthritis disease (in particular, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis and who are also reflective of BC's racial and ethnic diversity) -- but these are desirable attributes rather than essential qualifications. This is a two year term, with the potential to participate for a further two years.
About the Consumer Advisory Board and the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada...
The Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) is comprised of volunteer advocates with arthritis who bring personal experience and arthritis knowledge to research decision making at the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC). In the capacity of expert consumers, they ensure the consumer perspective is represented on research matters related to prevention, treatment and self-management of arthritis. Individually and collectively, they communicate research information and findings to arthritis consumers, professional organizations and the general public.
The Mission:
CAB participates in arthritis research decision-making and serves as a bridge between researchers, people with arthritis, and the community at large.
The Vision:
CAB partners in research to create a world without arthritis.
Membership Criteria for CAB Members
Selection criteria for new CAB members includes, but is not restricted to, the following:
Thank you for your interest in CAB. While all applicants will be contacted in May, we will only be able to select three people to fill the currently posted positions. In the event that you are not chosen as a full-time CAB member, please specify on your resume if you would be interested in participating on a periodic basis in CAB special projects and sub committees in our strategic areas.
