Making it work: Employment & Arthritis
Arthritis Research Canada is looking for participants to join a study on preventing work loss for people with osteoarthritis.
Purpose of this study: The aim of this study is to develop an on-line eLearning self-management program to help people with osteoarthritis deal with employment issues and stay employed.
Who can participate?
Anyone from the province of British Columbia and Alberta.
To be eligible to participate in this study, you must:
This study uses focus groups and individual interviews. A focus group is a group meeting with 4-5 other people and a trained facilitator. In each appointment, you will, with a trained facilitator, explore the challenges of working with osteoarthritis and possible solutions. To participate you will need: a computer, high speed internet, a webcam and headset.
When does this study take place?
Recruitment will be ongoing until April 15, 2017.
Where does this study take place/location?
You can participate from the comfort of your home as we use on-line technology to conduct the meetings and interviews. Appointments will be held at a time that is convenient for you.

- Be between the ages of 18 and 70 years;
- Have been told by a physician that you have osteoarthritis in either the hip, the knee, or your hands;
- Be currently employed OR having stopped working in the past 5 years;
