ACE National Survey on Private Health Insurance Plans – What is the experience of people with arthritis getting their health insurance plan to pay for arthritis medications and care?
Approximately 60% of Canadians have private health insurance plans. However, not all Canadians have equal access to private health insurance plans and some face serious challenges getting their private health insurance plan to pay for arthritis medications and other essential elements of their arthritis care.
In this Arthritis at Home, Ellen Wang, ACE programs coordinator, speaks to ACE’s VP of Communications & Public Affairs, Kelly Lendvoy, about the latest ACE National Survey on Private Health Insurance Plans, specifically designed for people living with arthritis in Canada and currently covered by a private health insurance plan.
Kelly encourages people with arthritis to share their experience by participating in the Survey. This feedback will directly inform ACE's advocacy efforts with key stakeholders— patients, employers, private health insurance policymakers, arthritis researchers and clinicians, and the media—to advance a deeper understanding of day-to-day challenges people face with their private health insurance plan.
