In this issue of JointHealth™ monthly:

May is Ankylosing Spondylitis month

The spotlight is on ankylosing spondylitis this month and Arthritis Consumer Experts (ACE) does its part to draw attention to the disease. In this issue of JointHealth™ monthly we describe ankylosing spondylitis (AS), its signs and symptoms, and possible treatment plans. We interviewed a leading advocate to find out about the issues surrounding AS, which include myths about the disease, the challenges of making a diagnosis, and the importance of early detection.

Also in this issue of JointHealth™ monthly, ACE introduces you to Nathalie, the newest guest blogger on the Arthritis Broadcast Network—a project of the National Arthritis Awareness Program that ACE co-leads with the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC). Nathalie writes in French about her experience of living with ankylosing spondylitis. Her story is poignant and it resonates, not just with those who have AS, but with anyone who lives with a chronic and painful illness.
