Arthritis At Home Episode 144 – Quality of life for rheumatoid arthritis patients with Nejat Hassen
In this episode of Arthritis At Home, Ellen Wang, Programs Coordinator of Arthritis Consumer Experts, speaks to Nejat Hassen, who is pursuing a Master of Science at the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia.
Throughout her childhood, Nejat participated in many different sports and activities, which led her to pursue her undergrad in kinesiology. Under the supervision of Dr. Diane Lacaille, Nejat's research focusses on how different comorbidities, disease-related factors, sociodemographic factors, and lifestyle factors contribute to the quality of life of rheumatoid arthritis patients. The result of this study will assist to improve collaborative decision-making between clinicians and patients on methods to best mitigate and manage the disease in a manner most valuable for the patient.
