The Arthritis Health Journal - Participate today!

Do you have rheumatoid arthritis? Would you like to pilot test a new online tool?

The Arthritis Health Journal is an online tool that helps people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) keep a record of their medical information, track their symptoms, monitor their disease activity, and develop an action plan with their rheumatologist to manage their RA. If you have rheumatoid arthritis, this is a great opportunity for you to help pilot test this innovative online tool that can potentially be life changing for someone living with arthritis.

You are eligible to participate if you:
  • Have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis
  • Are under the ongoing care of a rheumatologist
  • Are comfortable using a computer and online applications
  • Have access to a computer with internet
  • Are able to read and write in English without the aid of a translator
  • Are 18 years of age or older
Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups – you will either use the Arthritis Health Journal right away, or you will be asked to wait for six months before using the journal. You will use the journal at your leisure for six months. All participants will be required to complete online questionnaires every three months for one year. Some participants will also be invited to participate in a 60-90 minute interview about their experience in using the Arthritis Health Journal. All information collected will be strictly kept confidential.

This study is made possible through the collaboration of the University of British Columbia, the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada, Vancouver Coastal Health, and the Canadian Initiative for Outcomes in Rheumatology. The study is currently only available in English. If you would like to take part in the study or would like more information, please contact the research assistant, Erin Carruthers, by phone at 604-207-4005 or email at ecarruthers@arthritisresearch.ca.
