Are you interested in arthritis research and how it impacts the treatment and health of people with arthritis?
Do you believe that people with arthritis should have a meaningful voice in deciding the priorities of arthritis research in Canada? Are you an advocate for people with arthritis or would you like to be?
Do you want to work together with people with arthritis and researchers from across Canada?
As its name suggests, the council is a diverse group of people living with arthritis who are responsible for articulating the needs and concerns of Canadians with arthritis as they relate to Canadian Arthritis Network research initiatives, government and the arthritis public at-large.
Council members participate on all Canadian Arthritis Network Committees and are full voting members on the Network's peer-review panels.

Selection criteria for new Council members includes, but is not restricted to, the following:

- The Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) of the Canadian Arthritis Network (CAN) is looking for a volunteer representative from the province of Nova Scotia
As its name suggests, the council is a diverse group of people living with arthritis who are responsible for articulating the needs and concerns of Canadians with arthritis as they relate to Canadian Arthritis Network research initiatives, government and the arthritis public at-large.
Council members participate on all Canadian Arthritis Network Committees and are full voting members on the Network's peer-review panels.
Membership Criteria
Selection criteria for new Council members includes, but is not restricted to, the following:
- A strong interest in arthritis research;
- Informed on a broad range of arthritis issues;
- Experience in consumer-centered arthritis organizations;
- The willingness and ability to articulate the needs and concerns of people with arthritis at all CAN meetings and activities;
- Barring unforeseen issues or complications with one's arthritis, willingness to serve a minimum two year volunteer commitment to the Council;
- The interest and desire to receive appropriate training in order to participate in CAN and CAC responsibilities;
- The ability and interest to train and mentor other arthritis consumers interested in research participation;
- Willingness and commitment to advocate for arthritis research in established and innovative ways.
