Be Aggressive About Your Health!
Aggressive Treatment Can Prevent Joint Damage and Reduce Pain.
Today, one in six people has arthritis. That means arthritis is likely to affect you or someone in your life. Early diagnosis is essential to treating this debilitating disease so the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) is helping to raise awareness by making a series of five videos that combine the latest research findings with entertaining visuals for emphasis.
In Rheumatoid Arthritis and DMARDs, Dr. Lacaille, Senior Research Scientist with ARC and a leading world expert in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), explains that people with RA need early, aggressive treatment with disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) to help prevent joint damage, reduce pain and reduce the risk of premature death.
This is the third in an exciting series of five videos created by The Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) covering topics important to people living with arthritis and those who want to avoid it. Visit www.arthritisresearch.ca for the latest video releases.
Coming Soon: Osteoarthritis is a Treatable Disease
ARC's scientists are respected leaders in their fields, affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI). This project was made possible with funding by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). These exciting new videos provide arthritis information you can trust to be accurate, relevant and even entertaining.
